Custom Golf Club Fitting

Welcome to the Eagle's Back custom golf club fitting process. Custom fit golf clubs can benefit every golfer. Custom fit golf clubs can allow every golfer to play better golf and enjoy the game more.

The Eagle's Back custom golf club fitting worksheet provides a means to determine various aspects of your game and playing characteristic's and matches appropriate equipment and specifications against those characteristics. Custom fit golf clubs will allow you to hit the ball farther, more accurately and be more consistent on the golf course. Through the custom golf club fitting process you will be able to maximize your game by looking at your current set make-up and optimize it to make every club a scoring club by replacing clubs that you don't use with clubs that you can hit and getting clubs that 'fill-in' those gaps in distance.

Major club-fitting variables include:

  • Club length - Correct club length allows for more consistent impact of the ball for greater distance, accuracy and feel.
  • Clubhead design - Selecting the appropriate design that includes game improvement design features to assist in getting the appropriate trajectory and direction.
  • Shaft flex and weight - Fitting the appropriate shaft is critical to enhance the accuracy and feel for the golfer. Shaft flex can affect distance, ball flight, trajectory and feel and both swing speed and swing tempo are improtant considerations to determine the most appropriate shaft flex.
  • Lie angle - Proper lie angle ensures that the sole of the golf club is parallel with ground at impact. This is a critical measurement as an improper lie angle will cause problems with directional control. Too flat a lie and the golfer will tend to push and/or slice the ball. Too steep a lie and the golfer could pull and/or hook the ball.
  • Grip size - Sizing the appropriate grip is important not only for feel and comfort but provides for more accruacy in shot making. Having too small or large a grip can cause a golfer to either slice or hook the ball.
  • Set Make-up - You should be able to play with every club in your bag so that every club becomes a scoring club. There should be no gaps in distance when you go through your clubs.

The Eagle's Back CustomFit form is simple to complete. It will take you through a number of questions about you and your game in order to provide the best fitting recommendations for you.

The CustomFit form goes through four steps to determine the best specifications and make-up for you. The steps include:
